Big socials are giant communication platforms. They have become infrastructure. They have become utilities. They are becoming a necessary tool for economic production, and communication.
Big social platforms have become monopolies on mass communication like the old phone companies. Big search platforms have become monopolies on what results you get when you open any internet browser and just want to get information.
They’ve become MORE than just ‘private companies’. They’re immensely powerful. Too powerful. They can influence elections. They can collude with select powerful people cover up criminality while shaping public sentiment to prosecute people they they hate on others.
They can make people love or hate anything or anyone with algorithms. THIS IS DANGEROUS!Â
The solution is to compel big socials to uncensor LAWFUL speech on big social platforms.
This is one of THE civil rights issues of our times.
